Who Are We ?

Sarim Fassi-Fihri, the Managing Director of MPS, has worked in the film industry since the early nineteen-eighties, involved in the production of Moroccan, European and American films. In 1987, he set up Moroccan Productions & Services (MPS) to produce Moroccan films and to manage the executive production of foreign films in Morocco.

In 1995 he became Chairman of the 'Chambre Marocaine des Producteurs de Films' (Moroccan Guild of Film Producers). This guild includes Moroccan producers and directors. It has representatives on the boards of directors of both the 'Centre Cinématographique Marocain' and the 'Fondation du Festival International du Film de Marrakech', enabling the guild to participated in policy-making as regards cinematographic production in Morocco, a role that includes defending the interests of the profession drawing up legislation and regulations, promoting Moroccan cinema abroad, developping and promoting foreign productions in Morocco, tax issues in the sector, development of human resources etc...

From the time he first set up MPS, Sarim Fassi-Fihri realised there would be no development of cinematographical production without some development of the associated technical industries and training for technicians. For more than twenty years MPS has been committed to training technicians and investing in technical infrastructure.

These days MPS comprises a team of over 45 people: producers, production assistants, stage managers, camera operators, grips, gaffers, electricians, groupmen, maintenance technicians, joiners, metalworkers, transport professionals and even cooks!

MPS provide film and advertising productions with infrastructure and fully equipped stages to comply with international standards.
